Definition - Real-time captions are white letters with a black background which typically scroll up to 3 lines (the top line of the 3 lines disappears as a new bottom line is added). Live captioning is provided at time of program origination.

Applications –Lectures & presentations, corporate meetings, special events, school classes, Web-casts, video teleconferences, satellite broadcasts, Live t.v. broadcasts. Real Time Live Captioning can augment and supplement sign- language interpreting (each method addresses groups of people with different needs: each method has its strengths).
